Formed in Seattle in 1987, Alice In Chains helped define grunge’s heavier edge. Early records like Facelift, Dirt and Jar of Flies paired hard, dark songwriting with a strong melodic pull. Following Layne Staley’s death in 2002, the band returned in 2005 with William DuVall alongside Jerry Cantrell, Sean Kinney and Mike Inez.
