This self-financed and independently released record came to the attention of the London music press and after enthusiastic reviews and a short residency at Ronnie Scott’s club in Soho, the band secured a wider release of their album with Warner Bros.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eAround this time \u003cstrong\u003eBack Door\u003c\/strong\u003e also began to record sessions for BBC Radio 1 and had a supporter in legendary DJ John Peel. Over the next few years they recorded a further three albums, \u003cem\u003e8th Street Nights\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eAnother Fine Mess\u003c\/em\u003e (which saw keyboard player Dave McRae added to their ranks) and \u003cem\u003eActivate\u003c\/em\u003e (which featured new drummer Adrian Tilbrook).
