In between these musical campaigns, the question fans most often ask is, "So, what do you do in your break time?" With his new album, Garry now has the perfect answer. Break Time is a wonderfully raucous collection of twelve original songs, all written or co-written by Garry. Reaching back to the sounds that initially inspired him; the songs on Break Time use the music of the '50s as a framework. Drawing from the rich pool of Nashville players, Garry assembled an ace studio crew to help him bring these songs to life. Special guests include guitar giant Duane Eddy, whose unmistakable twang can be heard on "Promise to My Heart," fellow E Street Band member Nils Lofgren adds harmony vocals on "Ooh La La," and Cajun superstar Doug Kershaw sings on "Bayou Love." Music City chanteuse Kristi Rose duets with Garry on the first single, the rockabilly boppin' "Stay Away." A video for the single has been shot by master artist Bob Delevante, coming soon to a screen near you. Recorded live to 8-track tape at Nashville musician Paul Burch's Pan American Studios, Break Time is a triumph of analog music making. Co-produced by Garry and Eddie Angel, founder of Los Straitjackets, it sounds like the work of a man who has been in love with rock and roll his entire life. And that's exactly what it is; Every last note of it.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0867/1120/6219/files/b5569010-9b89-4f4f-bd5b-81165481b34e_thumbnail_4096.jpg?v=1726947089
more-like-me-1
More Like Me

"I learned how to play music by ear, and just haven't learned how to read music since", says Tallent. "I would listen to the popular music of the day back then. My favorite was Buddy Holly. And I would mimic what he played on my cheap guitar." Step forward a few years later and Garry becomes a member of Bruce Springsteens The E Street Band. It wasnt until 2016 that Tallent decided to step out of his comfort zone and finally become his own boss with the release of his first solo album, Break Time. He jokes that it took him 65 years to put the album together, and when asked about it, he seems uneasy and looks away. When his gaze returns, so has his confidence and the realization that theres no need to be anxious. Since Break Time, Garry has been working on his second solo release, More Like Me, which is Garry's homage to the sound of the mid-60s; the sounds he grew up and learned by ear on his cheap guitar.
