It had a certain kind of beauty but one that’s fairly remote and cold. Imagine if it had been made with warmth though and, well, funkiness, (Krash Slaughta must have thought, prior to making this) – you know – like hip-hop was, back in the day. I mean you could get rid of those robotic drums for one and bring in something organic. You could ditch the Bladerunner synths and install some looping non-lyric female vocal harmonies couldn’t you? Maybe add in some quietly jangling funk guitar, a bit of rumbling organic bass, some scratching and – ooh yeah – some aircraft (not to mention aircrew) sound effects and with Doom’s usual impenetrable bars over the top and this thing would absolutely fly!
