Los Saicos has been recognized as one of the most original and influential Latin American bands of the 1960s.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIn the summer of 1960, Erwin Flores, Rolando \"El Chino\" Carpio, César \"Papi\" Castrillón, and Francisco \"Pancho\" Guevara met in a rock and roll gang called Los Cometas. They decided to form their own band and began meeting at Carpio's house to listen to songs. It was during one of these rehearsals that they came up with the name Los Saicos, inspired by the word \"psycho\" and Seiko watches popular at that time.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe band released their first song titled \"Demolition\" in May 1965 after their producer loved it during a rehearsal.
