Sutton is joined on this record by Kyle Forester (Crystal Stilts\/Lady\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ebug Transistor\/ Woods) who plays most instruments on Love, Burns’ previous LPs (It Should Have Been Tomorrow, 2020, and Blue, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e2024), along with \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHannes Müller (The BV’s) on drums. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSpecial guest singer is Rachel Evans, longtime member of Comet Gain. Despite their shared CV particulars this is the first time Sutton and Evans have recorded together. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eDear Carol is based on a very short dream Sutton had where he had a chat about the state of the world with Carol White, star of Cathy Come Home, Up the Junction (the original teleplay) and Poor Cow. Sutton wrote the tune and sat on it for ages. He thought the lyrics seemed a bit conversational, the stuff of a duet. Now an American citizen, he turned to one of his favourite English singers, and old friend Rachel Evans\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. She said \"It’s a \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003egood song, Sutton\", so the record was made. Evans also added backing vocals to the b-side, a song about someone getting a tattoo declaring their love for their partner, called \"Drawn Together\". The backing vocals were a surprise that made Sutton cry. Just a taster, 'Goodnight, Charlie' is a pop song with a Teenage Fanclub-feel in the verse, stomper in the chorus. 'One More Night in the Park' is a Creation\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eera Felt meets Yo La Tengo pop song. 'Wallflower' is a classic bitter-sweet indie pop song with a hook. 'Love is Like Semaphore' is an indie Baroque pop duet with Jo Roman. 'Baby, Don't Look Away' is a\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eguitar pop attack on apathy.
