While there is a darkness to some of it (fleshed out by imagery of nightmares, childhood terrors, and the trauma of mental institutions), it is balanced by feelings of romance and optimism and an overwhelming sense of childlike wonder.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003eHospital Lullabies \u003c\/i\u003ehas delicate dream-like moments (\u003ci\u003eVestido\u003c\/i\u003e), motorik cosmic freakouts (\u003ci\u003eAlien\u003c\/i\u003e), EBM floor-fillers (\u003ci\u003eLos Problemas del Futuro\u003c\/i\u003e), avant-garde poetry soundscapes (\u003ci\u003eCuando una Persona Comuìn\u003c\/i\u003e), and New Order \/ OMD-esque electro dance-pop ballads (\u003ci\u003eDetraìs de una Flor)\u003c\/i\u003e. That being said, there is a thematic linear thread that ties everything together, and the album really should be approached as a whole rather than a mere collection of songs.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eUltimately, this is a record that could only be made by two people completely and totally in love with one another - two people who have dedicated their lives not only to each other, but also to this music (which they are generous enough to share with the rest of us). 'Miseress' is their second album and continues the post punk and industrial inflected synth explorations that were first introduced on their 2011 self-titled debut album.  Burguess and Nochteff share the vocal duties, all sung in their native Spanish but with an emotiveness that transcends any language barriers.  Recorded at their studio in Berlin, and mixed at Einsturzende Neubauten's studio andereBaustelle by engineer Boris Wilsdorf, 'Miseress' bounds between the foreboding and the abstract to more frenetic sounding pop.
