He was a good friend to all the people involved in these recordings and to a great many other people too. It may be that you knew him as well. If you didn't then that is ok. He was one of us. You would have liked him. A meticulous collector of music, always listened first, and then he would speak. He was around before and during all the Nitzer Ebb years. Not only that he really loved Iggy and saw him over fifty-five times. His enthusiasm became ours and this song became his. He knew we were planning a cover version but we never got to tell him which song as it was going to be a surprise. The surprise was Donald left all of us in april 2018. These versions were recorded over a few days in the late summer of that year. This is for Donald, his wife Sharon and his children Marianne and Jimmy.
