On this debut album, the band sound hungry, nervous, and indulges in its bipolar nature: the carelessness of post-punk and the concrete character of 1990s alternative metal both contribute equally to their DNA. The speed noise band hailing from Belgium come screaming bloody murder and reflecting on past traumas. Ronker’s music can be described as a mix between Danzig-era Misfits meets Helmet, equally influenced by the earliest of hardcore-punk as 1990s guitar music or thrash metal. Their debut EP, \u003ci\u003eSelf Loathing Self Help\u003c\/i\u003e, was born imperfect, loud and ugly, kicking wildly and gasping for breath. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor this release, the band took residence in Hightime Studio, where Thomas Valkiers (CRACKUPS) rules as the Flemish equivalent of Steve Albini. The EP was pieced together sonically by Tim De Gieter (Amenra, Doodseskader). As a result, the songs have acquired both the no-fucks-given attitude of garage punk and the concrete character of 1990s alt-metal. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWith shows alongside bands such as Melvins, Brutus and Show Me The Body, Ronker are now eager to write a new chapter.\u003ci\u003e Self Loathing Self Help\u003c\/i\u003e tells a story about depression, suicide and the ones left behind. It was therefore deliberately chosen to bundle these four numbers.
