First single ‘Shake’ features Alfa Mist on vocal duties, painting a story of a protagonist choosing to respond to their environment by getting stronger and more resilient. Accompanied by moody breaks, eerie keys and punctuated by a ghostly trumpet motif it's a truly immersive introduction to the record. On the flip, ‘Palmers’ channels a focussed and driving energy, featuring hypnotic and captivating elements used to incredible effect. It was at one of these nights that the basis for ‘Champion’ was formed, plucked from a twenty second snippet recorded on a phone of one of the legendary jams, which has in turn been reimagined on\u003ci\u003e Resynthesis\u003c\/i\u003e by some of the musicians that were present on the night itself. On the genesis of the record, Alfa says: ‘Some of my favorite albums are captured live performances. I came home from a long year of touring and decided to work on some music for Amika Quartet who I've been working with for years on a few different shows and projects. A lot of the music I release is recorded in whole takes, I think there's something nice about doing the best you can with the moments you have.
