Collection: Smithsonian Folkways

Smithsonian Folkways began in 1987, when the Smithsonian Institution acquired Folkways Records from Moses Asch’s estate and pledged to keep its 2,168 titles in print. Based in the United States, the label continues that archival mission across traditional folk, world music, blues and jazz, balancing preservation with new work.
