'Lost Domain' is an album in which Tim battles to come to terms with his loss, charting his father's rapid decline into illness, his death and the tumultuous effect that it had on his life over the course of 11 songs. But while this is a brutally open record, it's not a maudlin one. Moments of joy and hope shine amidst the heartache. The music, too, is less sparse than you might imagine for an introspective solo record. String sections, horns and electronics all combine to add to 'Lost Domain's emotional wallop. Indeed, the two instrumental tracks  bluesy opener 'Snow In Nara' and the jazztinged, 5\/4 signatured 'Vapour' are among its most affecting moments. Produced by Tim and Claudius Mittendorfer at Ash's New York studio, Tim played almost everything himself, roping in musician friends when he needed a hand: Andy Burrows (ex-Razorlight) and Fred Aspelin (Alberta Cross) each played some drums; Ilan Eshkeri contributed string and brass arrangements performed by the London Metropolitan Orchestra; Leanne Macomber from Ejecta and Neon Indian sang; Oliver Kraus wrote a string arrangement and played cello; and Moon Hooch's Wenzl McGowen played saxophone. There's even a sample of Tim's dad's piano playing on the album's epic centerpiece Medicine.CD - 11 Tracks.2CD - Deluxe Version with 8 bonus tracks on disc 2, including 4 acoustic tracks and the 'Sheltered Youth' EP and a 28 Page Booklet.LP - Double LP with CD Version. Holy Holy's sound is tinged with the spirit of the classic rock that has shaped their musical sensibilities - it's pretty hard to miss the Neil Young-esque nuances throughout, or the Pink Floyd-flavoured grit in those ragged melodies. The fevered 'A Heroine' is brimming with nostalgic vintage energy, constructed around flawlessly executed '70s-style guitar lines and a tinny, frenetic climbing melody. This is a rumble-tumble, fuzzed-out rock affair, complete with an indulgent closing axe shred that comes across almost as a deliberate nod to the days of old, poured straight into a two-inch tape recorder and expertly configured to 16-tracks. In fact, a majority of the album's elements were recorded directly to tape, providing 'When The Storms Would Come' with an overriding warmth and authenticity; it's all in the weighty, bottom-end-heavy quality that belies Holy Holy's breezy arrangements, crisp guitar tones and dense rhythms.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Sony Red","offers":[{"title":"CD","offer_id":50471020003659,"sku":"394510","price":9.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0867\/1120\/6219\/files\/51a4e970-7292-42b6-9e73-e063c9313b89_thumbnail_4096.jpg?v=1727388153"},{"product_id":"for-all-my-sisters","title":"For All My Sisters","description":"\u003cp\u003eThe Cribs mark a welcome return with the release of new album 'For All My Sisters. 'Matter', the band's follow-up to 2013's 'When The Night', is 11 thundering blasts of pop. They've taken the debut's cavernous sounds and exploded them: The melodies are sharper, the song structures more concise and Grobler's vocals more assured. In fact, we haven't heard a male pop vocalist sing his heart out this way since the '80s. First single, 'Dancing On Glass' is an earworm of hooks and choral vocals. Throughout 'Matter', the details actually do matter: A funky, Prince-like guitar and falsetto breakdown midway through 'Physical,' layers of shimmer glazed over 'Stay,' or the sweet final minute (\"go find me somebody to love!\") of the album's lone midtempo, 'Love Somebody.'\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Sony Red","offers":[{"title":"CD","offer_id":50471164739915,"sku":"402033","price":9.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0867\/1120\/6219\/files\/ac873968-484b-4dba-a785-2d51275e0eea_thumbnail_4096.jpg?v=1727393814"}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0867\/1120\/6219\/collections\/test_c3127b67_thumbnail_4096_6bb92369-7dd4-4608-89b8-88b5b9c00081.jpg?v=1727190196","url":"https:\/\/shop.roughtrade.com\/collections\/sony-red.oembed","provider":"Rough Trade","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
