It would be Reilly's third venture to record the a capella gospel tradition of Como, Mississippi for Daptone Records.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIt was during his first recording (\u003cem\u003eThe Voices of Panola County: Como Now\u003c\/em\u003e) that he encountered the Walker family and learned of their great musical tradition. \u003cstrong\u003eRaymond Walker\u003c\/strong\u003e was courted by both \u003cstrong\u003eFred McDowell\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eSam Cooke\u003c\/strong\u003e - each asked him to sing behind them on tour. Respectfully, \u003cstrong\u003eRaymond\u003c\/strong\u003e declined, on account that the singers wanted him to sing blues rather than gospel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eHowever, it was the Walkers' voices and not their rich history that captured the attention of Daptone and inspired Reilly's return to Como to make a full-length record of the Walker family songs.
