Born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England, he moved to Liverpool at 18 to attend the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). During his time at LIPA, Croll won the national Songwriter of the Year award and had a one-to-one session with LIPA founder Sir Paul McCartney.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 2012, Croll released his debut single \"From Nowhere\" which gained popularity after being featured on the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto 5. The song reached #36 on the Billboard Alternative chart and received airplay in both the UK and US.
