Musically, Furnace follow in the strong tradition of melodic death metal in the style of Edge Of Sanity and Cemetary, combined with early 1990s goth \/ doom metal elements of bands like Paradise Lost and Amorphis. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ci\u003eThe Casca Trilogy\u003c\/i\u003e is the band’s fourth full length release, following \u003ci\u003eBlack Stone Church\u003c\/i\u003e (2020),\u003ci\u003e Dark Vistas\u003c\/i\u003e (2020) and \u003ci\u003eStellarum \u003c\/i\u003e(2022). Keeping with Furnace tradition, the album is a full out concept album covering three discs. Thus, the album’s concept story spans three different historical ages, one for each disc. The story follows Casca Rufio Longinus, a Roman legionary who kills Jesus on the cross, is treated as a pariah by all, and is cursed to live forever as a mercenary and transferred to the northern parts of the Roman Empire where he battles the Germanic barbarians. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe second CD features Casca over 1000 years later, as a guard on a French monastery in England, attacked by Vikings, and the third CD sees Casca another ten centuries later, as officer in the British Army during World War I, facing the horrors of trench warfare. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJohansson and Svensson are joined by Lars Demoke on drums, and the albums also features guest vocals from Dave Ingram (Benediction, Bolt Thrower). \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor fans of Edge Of Sanity, Paradise Lost, Dismember, Tiamat, Katatonia, Paganizer, Amorphis, Benediction, Cemetary, Unleashed, Sentenced and Revolting.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Doc Records","offers":[{"title":"CDx3","offer_id":50506679615819,"sku":"2021977","price":22.99,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0867\/1120\/6219\/files\/The_Casca_Trilogy_a52296aa_thumbnail_4096.jpg?v=1727827279"}],"url":"https:\/\/shop.roughtrade.com\/de\/collections\/furnace.oembed","provider":"Rough Trade","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
