He was one of the first rock artists to have his thrilling performances captured on a live album release,  while as recently as 2010 Mean Old Man garnered some of his best album sales to date (Last Man Standing, 2006) remains his biggest seller). \n\n1979 witnessed Jerry Lee’s first performance at the Palomino Club in Van Nuys, California. This legendary honkytonk was one of Lee’s favorite stomping grounds, and he was something of a favorite son with the patrons. He played for three nights from 18-20 June and there were further appearances in 1981 and 1985. In 1991, some thirty years ago, The Complete Palomino Club Recordings – a double disc set – was released on Tomato Records.
