This line up recorded the critically acclaimed 1973 debut, \u003cem\u003eFirst Water\u003c\/em\u003e, a forgotten gem ready for rediscovery.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eFraser quit the band after being injured when Spedding’s “Sharkmobile”, a customised Pontiac Le Mans (see front of box set) was involved in a car accident. Parsons, Spedding and Simon bounced back with an impressive second album, \u003cem\u003eJab It In Yore Eye\u003c\/em\u003e, with new bassist Busta “Cherry” Jones (who later toured as part of Talking Heads) and keyboardist Nick Judd. The guitar riff from album highlight ‘Sophistication’ later provided \u003cstrong\u003eSharks\u003c\/strong\u003e’ fan Mick Jones of The Clash with inspiration when writing ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go’.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThough Island dropped the band during the making of third album, \u003cem\u003eCar Crash Tapes\u003c\/em\u003e, and they soon split up, it’s another strong collection.
