The release of the film \u003cem\u003eQuadrophenia\u003c\/em\u003e gave a focal point to the growing mod revival, power pop bands like The Jags similarly sought inspiration from the mid-‘60s, while 2-Tone recalibrated the ska sound of Prince Buster for a new generation of pork pie hat-wearing rude boys.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eRunning parallel to those developments were bands like \u003cstrong\u003ePublic Image Ltd\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eSiouxsie And The Banshees\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eThe Fall\u003c\/strong\u003e, and \u003cstrong\u003eJoy Division\u003c\/strong\u003e demanding the future now with an uncompromising sound and nonconformist approach that would subsequently be labelled post-punk.
