I struggled a lot with coming to terms with my sexuality, illness, shame, and trusting myself.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFittingly, I started running throughout making the record too, running long distances and half marathons, but whilst I enjoyed it at times, it quickly became another impossible standard for me to try and obtain. 'Marathon' feels like a debut album to me, as I had no clue who I was before I started it. I feel that this record will always be important to me as a marker of strength and persistence.
