Rex\u003c\/em\u003e, but it’s also just a skip to the \u003cem\u003eSex Pistols\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eRamones\u003c\/em\u003e, and more punk from there; it’s also not far from the “post” sounds that came out of New York and London around 1977 or the darkness and decadence of \u003cstrong\u003eSiouxsie Sioux\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eBauhaus\u003c\/strong\u003e either.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe tarted-up heavy metal of \u003cem\u003eHanoi Rocks\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003ePoison\u003c\/em\u003e in the 1980s followed, and into this newer century, you can hear Bolan’s direction heeded and reimagined by \u003cstrong\u003eAlison Goldfrapp\u003c\/strong\u003e or \u003cstrong\u003eDevendra Banhart\u003c\/strong\u003e. All of that is because of this album, the sound of \u003cstrong\u003eMarc Bolan\u003c\/strong\u003e turning the key to unlock his true potential.
