They are widely recognized as classic Oi!\/street punk artists with their early releases such as Voice of a Generation (1981) and Second Empire Justice LP (1982). Moving into new wave\/post-punk territory with their second album, The Killing Dream (1983), the band unfortunately experienced commercial failure and split up shortly thereafter. Guitarist Nidge Miller resurrected the Blitz name in 1990 with the album The Final Blitz and continued with 1992's Second Empire Justice II. Miller played all instruments on these recordings while vocals were provided by Gary Bassett of Criminal Class.
