The two already reign as one of Americana music's coolest couples, and their latest release, 'Our Year', elevates them closer to the lofty territory once occupied by beloved royals Johnny 'n' June and George 'n' Tammy. Working again in Nashville with producer Brad Jones (Cheater's Game), they delivered their musical thoughts in 10 outstanding tracks, from formidable originals to well-honed covers including a knockout version of the Tom T. Hall-penned 'Harper Valley PTA.' Jeannie C. Riley's 1968 hit sounds like a classic all over again in the hands of this pair - and the chicken-pickin', mandolin-plucking, shaker-grooving players who back them on this tart tale. The desire to capture that live dynamic - their 'swampier, grittier side' - drove the creation of 'Our Year', Willis says. Robison calls their style "a modern take on classic country music, without being retro."

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0867/1120/6219/files/84e4b2ae-42eb-4a5d-b35a-c6af32084d96_thumbnail_4096.jpg?v=1727385399
what-i-deserve-25th-anniversary-edition
What I Deserve: 25th Anniversary Edition

25th Anniversary expanded edition available on CD and for the first time on vinyl. Among her fans were other Texas musicians like Lyle Lovett and Nanci Griffith. Griffith introduced her to producer Tony Brown who signed Willis to MCA Records. Soon, she would find herself in the films Thelma And Louise and Bob Roberts, as well as receiving a nomination as Top New Female Vocalist at 1993’s Academy of Country Music Awards. After three records on MCA, and an EP on A&M, Willis finished her fifth release and signed with Rykodisc, who released What I Deserve in 1999.
