Challenge Records

Challenge Records was founded in the US in 1957 by Gene Autry and investors, then soon passed to Joe Johnson and Johnny Thompson. Its catalogue touched rock, country and pop, with releases from The Champs, The Knickerbockers, Wynn Stewart and Micky Dolenz. Songwriter Gary Usher also issued work there under several names.
