Marcellus Hall has created a little masterpiece with \"I will never let you down,\" with 12 songs located somewhere between folk, pop, indie, and Americana, he has set aside blues and punk in favor of classic American songwriting. The opener \"Behind the Stadium\" is an example of how Hall processes his musical past. He cites two songs from his oeuvre: \"Life is Still Sweet\" by White Hassle prompted Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock to tattoo the song title on his arm and to write the hit \"Float On.\" The song \"Rollercoaster\" by Railroad Jerk was celebrated by Beavis and Butt-Head on MTV at the time and enabled Hall to have a small indie career in the 90s. In the video for the title track \"I will never let you down,\" Marcellus Hall shows his other talent besides singing, guitar playing, and songwriting. He works as an illustrator and has designed several covers for The New Yorker.
