The songs for the 7-inch are recorded in the same sessions as the LP, and works perfectly as an en-suite release. These are 4 songs that show 2 sides of the PowerSolo sound. The opener and closer are hard hitting rock-a-billy bangers sandwiching the more exotic, loungey spoken word tunes A2 and B1. PowerSolo is the alias of Mr. Kim Kix, who until 2017 shared both record grooves and the live stage with his brother The Atomic Child. But this year Kim is once again effectively a one-man-band - although PowerSolo tours as a three piece. All the songs are written and played by Kix (The Atomic Child joins him on drums on A2 and B1), who also produced the LP and EP. In fact PowerSolo started out as a one-man band back before the first recordings were made in another millenium. The minimalist approach to rock'n'roll is one perfectly utilized in Kim Kix's catchy, hooky and powerful songs. They hit you like loving blows dealt by a man and a band that are out to please no-one, but end up making love to your ears anyway. Alongside new guitarist and co-conspirator Charlie Shapiro (aka Jew Curly), frontman Kim Kix dives headfirst into Curly's basement to create a record fuelled by a mutual obsession with the forgotten corners of music history and the Garage Future-the kind of strange, dust-covered compilation LPs packed with novelty songs, regional oddities, accidental genius and beautiful musical mistakes. Every track on \"Rip It!\" inhabits its own crooked theme. Pills, Naked Police, Slippers, one exceptionally Bad Bad Man, a Plastic Maniac, a 14-year-old desert explorer named Habibi Bob-it's as if a stack of longed-for but forgotten novelty records, comic books, fever dreams, late-night television broadcasts, and cycling highlight reels were thrown into a sack, shaken, kicked violently, dragged back out and handed a microphone. The album even takes a detour into Greenlandic-Danish political relations on the bitter break-up song Leave Me Alone, featuring Greenlandic artist and actress Nive Nielsen. Like the best oddball records, \"Rip It!\" refuses to sit still. The title track locks listeners into a mind-numbing synth trance while impossibly catchy guitar lines dance barefoot across the surface of your brain. Elsewhere, My Songs lands like a slap across the face, demanding listeners abandon dignity, grab an air guitar, sprint to the nearest mirror, and finally become the obnoxiously confident rock star they've always known they could be. It's dumb. It's smart. It's catchy. It's out on 23 October 2026. Forget everything else. Consume bad food and violence. Drop kick your better judgment off a cliff.
