This is the recording of their live performance. The guest musicians were Amosphere, Apollo Noir, Canblaster, Narumi Herisson, Joseph Schiano di Lombo, and Frederic Soulard. Each musician used their own synthesizers, creating a synthetic chamber orchestra that showcased the evolution of electronic musical instruments. This included Amosphere’s Philicorda from 1967, Joakim’s Arp2600 (first launched in 1971), and contemporary instruments like Narumi’s Osmose from Expressive, along with Eurorack modular systems from Canblaster and Apollo Noir.

The performers were arranged in a circle at ground level with Joakim in the center. Each musician had their own speaker, making it seem as if the sound originated from their instrument. This setup encouraged the audience to move around the circle, experiencing a variety of sounds based on their position. The result is a uniquely reimagined version of “In C” that is both purely electronic and organically rich. Despite the relatively small ensemble, the piece feels immensely full, occasionally leading listeners to believe they hear a flute or oboe interspersed throughout.

Like a crusader, Apollo Noir relentlessly pursues his noble cause: pushing modular and analog experimentation ever further while remaining irresistibly accessible.
