There must be more than this.\" It\nfelt strange that after fulfilling all my wildest dreams a few times over, I still couldn't find\npeace. So I started writing songs trying to explore where I came from, who I was, why I tried\nto become an artist, why I was so desperate for external validation, why I couldn't find\ninternal validation, and interestingly how this related to womanhood. I explored idealised\nexpectations of conforming to certain female stereotypes - of being a \"good girl\", cheerful,\nsmaller, more agreeable - or putting others’ needs before my own, such as being a mother\nor wife. The record has taught me a lot; I've realised that for me these feelings of not being\ngood enough, or not deserving of joy, are so intricately tied to my gender.
