A further four tracks were discovered in his tape archive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe track listing includes an exceptional and dramatic solo recording of \"\u003cem\u003eIn The Light of a Miracle\u003c\/em\u003e\" and the enigmatic title instrumental \"\u003cem\u003ePicture of Bunny Rabbit\u003c\/em\u003e\", written especially for a friend's pet rabbit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe bulk of the material was recorded with engineer Eric Liljestrand at Battery Sound Studios, New York, which was located directly opposite the World Trade Center and at \u003cstrong\u003eArthur\u003c\/strong\u003e's apartment studio in the East Village.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1986, \u003cstrong\u003eArthur Russell\u003c\/strong\u003e was diagnosed with HIV. That same year, he released his career-defining masterpiece \u003cem\u003eWorld of Echo\u003c\/em\u003e, the first and only solo album issued during his lifetime. \u003cstrong\u003eArthur\u003c\/strong\u003e had found his voice and a fresh direction with a set of new, transformative material, unlike anything he or anyone else had previously released. His illness ensured that the artistic growth and sense of exploration encapsulated in \u003cem\u003eWorld of Echo\u003c\/em\u003e would be tragically curtailed. Within six short years, \u003cstrong\u003eArthur\u003c\/strong\u003e was gone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eArthur\u003c\/strong\u003e's final years were filled with a renewed commitment to creativity and unceasing live and recording work. He regularly performed the \u003cem\u003eWorld of Echo\u003c\/em\u003e material and incorporated several of its compositions in collaborations with choreographers active in New York’s innovative dance community. \u003cstrong\u003eArthur\u003c\/strong\u003e worked closely with Diane Madden, Allison Salzinger, Stephanie Woodard, and John Bernd, usually playing his cello and effects boxes offstage as the choreographers' pieces were performed.
