Hailing from Warwick and featuring \u003cstrong\u003eEdgar Broughton\u003c\/strong\u003e (guitars, vocals), \u003cstrong\u003eSteve Broughton\u003c\/strong\u003e (drums, vocals) and \u003cstrong\u003eArthur Grant\u003c\/strong\u003e (bass, vocals), their hard-hitting approach over a series of albums for the Harvest label earned them many loyal fans and several hit singles (including their anthem \"\u003cem\u003eOut Demons Out!\u003c\/em\u003e\").\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1973 the band departed Harvest and would record a further four albums, all released on independent labels between 1975 and 1982. \u003cem\u003eBandages\u003c\/em\u003e was the first of these records and was born of a time when the band was bedeviled with management problems. Despite the acclaim for \u003cem\u003eBandages\u003c\/em\u003e, by 1976 the band had decided to take a break and embarked on a “farewell” European tour with the addition of another guitarist to the band, \u003cstrong\u003eTerry Cottam\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eSeveral UK shows were recorded by the RAK Mobile studio and the highlights were eventually released in 1979 as the \u003cem\u003eLive Hits Harder!\u003c\/em\u003e album. By the time of this release the band had already entered the studio with a new line-up featuring \u003cstrong\u003eEdgar\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eSteve Broughton\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eArthur Grant\u003c\/strong\u003e joined by \u003cstrong\u003ePete Tolson\u003c\/strong\u003e (guitars), \u003cstrong\u003eRichard De Bastion\u003c\/strong\u003e (keyboards, backing vocals) and \u003cstrong\u003eTom Norden\u003c\/strong\u003e (guitars, backing vocals) to record the excellent album \u003cem\u003eParlez Vous English\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis record was produced by the band assisted by \u003cstrong\u003eJohn Leckie\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eSimon Heyworth\u003c\/strong\u003e and saw the band shorten their name to \u003cstrong\u003eThe Broughtons\u003c\/strong\u003e.
