Trapeze were on the brink of \nmajor Stateside success, when, in 1973, Glenn was offered the golden \nopportunity to play bass and sing with Deep Purple, joined by David \nCoverdale, for “Burn”, “Stormbringer” and “Come Taste The Band”.\nWith the group splitting in 1976, the first fruits of Glenn’s \npost-Purple career appeared with “Play Me Out” in 1977. Glenn would go \non to collaborate with Pat Thrall in Hughes\/Thrall, Rainbow’s Joe Lynn \nTurner in the Hughes Turner Project, with Tony Iommi in Black Sabbath \nand the self-titled “Iommi” album, plus a healthy of solo career.\nGlenn’s fifth solo album, \u003ci\u003eAddiction\u003c\/i\u003e, was originally released in \n1996, and unlike the more pop, soul and funk sounds of his previous \nrecord \"Feel\", “Addiction” sees the singer returning to a much harder \nrocking sound.
