Amelia and The Housewives

The band came together in 2024 and recorded five songs before playing any live shows. John Kennedy played all five and has championed the band he calls “Brighton’s best kept secret”. Simon from Fierce Panda offered them their first show in late 2024.

The day after, Ian from Damaged Goods offered them a single deal for Maybe, released as a 7” in 2025. The Brighton-based band blend girl-group harmonies, jangling indie-pop, garage-rock energy and classic pop melodies. Two songs have since been selected for the BBC’s Fresh Faves.

In 2026 they recorded another batch of songs and played more shows. Several small independent labels offered them an album deal, but the band chose Giles from INH because they felt they had a shared ethos and liked his hair. There’s also a rumour Paul McCartney turned up to one of their shows, danced to a song, winked at Tim and left before their cover of Step Inside Love.
