At the end of the tour, the pair joined forces with singer Eric Adams and \u003cstrong\u003eManowar\u003c\/strong\u003e were born.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eScott Columbus\u003c\/strong\u003e would join on drums for 1983’s \u003cem\u003eInto Glory Ride\u003c\/em\u003e. Releasing the self-explanatory and genre defining \u003cem\u003eBattle Hymns\u003c\/em\u003e in 1982, they would release three more influential and ground breaking albums of heavy metal before signing to Atlantic Records in 1987 for \u003cem\u003eFighting The World\u003c\/em\u003e. Notable for being the first \u003cstrong\u003eManowar\u003c\/strong\u003e LP to sport a cover painting by celebrated fantasy artist Ken Kelly, famed for his iconic artwork for \u003cem\u003eKISS\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003eRainbow\u003c\/em\u003e, Kelly would collaborate with \u003cstrong\u003eManowar\u003c\/strong\u003e for many years to come.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eAmong the 9 tracks penned by Joey DeMaio was a revisit to the epic \"\u003cem\u003eDefender\u003c\/em\u003e\" featuring Orson Welles (the only occasion that the legendary actor collaborated with a heavy metal band). Also included was lead single \"\u003cem\u003eBlow Your Speakers\u003c\/em\u003e\", whose video gave the band a wider audience through the growing popularity of MTV.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eWasting no time, a second LP was released by Atlantic in 1988. \u003cem\u003eKings Of Metal\u003c\/em\u003e proved to be a commercial high point, featuring the singles \"\u003cem\u003eWheels Of Fire\u003c\/em\u003e\" and \"\u003cem\u003eKings Of Metal\u003c\/em\u003e\". The “Kings Of Metal” tour would continue for three years, taking \u003cstrong\u003eManowar\u003c\/strong\u003e around the globe.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIt was four years before another \u003cstrong\u003eManowar\u003c\/strong\u003e record – \u003cem\u003eThe Triumph Of Steel\u003c\/em\u003e – was released, by which time founder member Ross The Boss had been replaced by David Shankle on guitar and Rhino had replaced \u003cstrong\u003eScott Columbus\u003c\/strong\u003e on drums, the only record to feature this line-up. The album kicks off with one of \u003cstrong\u003eManowar\u003c\/strong\u003e’s most ambitious pieces, the near 30 minute \"\u003cem\u003eAchilles, Agony And Ecstasy In Eight Parts\u003c\/em\u003e\". Sporting another impressive Ken Kelly painting, \u003cem\u003eThe Triumph Of Steel\u003c\/em\u003e was released in 1992, and features the single ‘\u003cem\u003eMetal Warriors\u003c\/em\u003e’.
