A virtuoso \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eguitarist and self-taught composer, Cilio released only one \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLP before his untimely death at the age of 33.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eDialoghi Del Presente (1977) is a work like no other, one \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethat sounds both ancient and ahead of its time. Produced by \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eRenato Marengo, it features a series of muted tableaux for\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003estrings, woodwinds, guitar, chorus, piano and percussion. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCilio carves out a space where subtle, repetitive phrases \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eyield—almost imperceptibly—to breathtaking silence.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003eWhile each subsequent “quadro” grows more abstract, Cilio draws the listener into an expansive, pastoral soundscape.
