The album was conceived as a series of diverse homages to other composers, which include Bill Evans (\u003ci class=\"\"\u003eMy First Homage\u003c\/i\u003e), Ferruccio Busoni and Gustav Holst (\u003ci class=\"\"\u003eThe English Mail-Coach\u003c\/i\u003e and \u003ci class=\"\"\u003eThe Vespertine Park\u003c\/i\u003e) and Percy Grainger (\u003ci class=\"\"\u003eHi-Tremolo\u003c\/i\u003e).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFeatured musicians included Andrew Bilham, Ronald Reah, Andrew Renshaw, Nigel Shipway, Dave Smith, John White and Marie Wilson, as well as Gavin Bryars himself on piano and vibraphone. The album is the only one which documents the important period between Bryars’ early experimental music and later works from \u003ci class=\"\"\u003eMedea\u003c\/i\u003e onwards, as well as his enthusiasm for small composer \/ performer ensembles. This 63 minute digital remaster of \u003ci class=\"\"\u003eHommages\u003c\/i\u003e now includes two bonus tracks composed and recorded by Bryars during the same period: \u003ci class=\"\"\u003eDanse Dieppoise\u003c\/i\u003e, and the lengthy piano piece \u003ci class=\"\"\u003eOut of Zaleski’s Gazebo\u003c\/i\u003e.
