The song straight up addresses the church’s hand in it.”\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIncendiary fretwork blazes throughout “Scars.” Maintaining this momentum, the trudging rhythm collides with a hammering hook, “Why don’t you show your scars?”\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“One More Day” gallops towards a cathartic chorus with a reminder to keep fighting in the face of adversity. “It’s heavy,” he says. “You’re at the end of the rope, and you’re working a shitty job with people you hate. Things aren’t getting better, but the message is to hang on for one more day.”\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThen, there’s “Bury Me.” On the latter, a searing solo ruptures the guillotine-sharp groove in the space between another chantable crescendo and searing scream.
