It is the first time \u003cem\u003eOrganized Con Funk Shun\u003c\/em\u003e has been available on CD.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003ePrior to developing their identity as \u003cstrong\u003eCon Funk Shun\u003c\/strong\u003e, the band worked in the early 70s as a backup group for The Soul Children, a well-known R\u0026amp;B act, as Project Soul. While Project Soul was recording these songs and looking to send demos to record labels, a change of name was considered. After a long discussion, somebody complained, \"Too many names and too much confusion,\" to which a response was given, \"Not confusion, Con Funk Shun.\" The question was then asked, \"What’s that?\" and the answer came, \"Con Funk Shun is organized confusion.\" Needless to say, the name stuck.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eAs the original sleeve note writer states, \u003cem\u003eOrganized Con Funk Shun\u003c\/em\u003e is \"Great Stuff!\" The album was recorded in Memphis and produced by Ted Sturges.
