Hail! Rock and Roll\u003c\/em\u003e, a tribute to \u003cstrong\u003eChuck Berry\u003c\/strong\u003e. \u003cstrong\u003eSteve\u003c\/strong\u003e produced \u003cstrong\u003eRobert\u003c\/strong\u003e's Grammy-winning \u003cem\u003eTake Your Shoes Off\u003c\/em\u003e in 1999, and a number of other albums, including the exciting \u003cem\u003e4 Nights of 40 Years Live\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eHe knew of \u003cstrong\u003eRobert\u003c\/strong\u003e's deep love of \u003cem\u003eO.V. Wright\u003c\/em\u003e and other Memphis soul legends, and suggested they take up residence at \u003cem\u003eRoyal Studios\u003c\/em\u003e, where \u003cem\u003eWright\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eAnn Peebles\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eAl Green\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eSyl Johnson\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eOtis Clay\u003c\/em\u003e, and many others recorded with the venerable producer, songwriter, arranger, and engineer, \u003cstrong\u003eWillie Mitchell\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe core of \u003cstrong\u003eMitchell\u003c\/strong\u003e's Hi Rhythm band used on many of those landmark sessions was still around, though \u003cstrong\u003eMitchell\u003c\/strong\u003e himself had passed in 2010. Set inside an old theatre, the funky \u003cem\u003eRoyal Studios\u003c\/em\u003e looks much as it did when \u003cem\u003eAl Green\u003c\/em\u003e was cutting those classics for Hi Records. Guitarist \u003cem\u003eTeenie Hodges\u003c\/em\u003e has passed away, but his brothers Rev. \u003cem\u003eCharles Hodges\u003c\/em\u003e (organ and piano) and Leroy \"Flick\" \u003cem\u003eHodges\u003c\/em\u003e (bass), along with cousin \u003cem\u003eArchie \"Hubbie\" Turner\u003c\/em\u003e (keyboards), were still there.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\"It was a soul, rhythm, and blues fantasy camp for us.
