The result is an album of catchy pop gems, more accessible than \u003ci\u003ePinkerton\u003c\/i\u003e, and with a quicker pace and more sonic depth than Weezer. Lead singer \/ songwriter Rivers Cuomo has a way with an infectious hook and a sing-along chorus, especially on \u003ci\u003eDon't Let Go, Photograph and Knockdown Drag Out\u003c\/i\u003e. The album's first single, \u003ci\u003eHash Pipe,\u003c\/i\u003e kicks off with a bass-heavy, 70s-sounding metal riff, while \u003ci\u003eIsland in the Sun\u003c\/i\u003e is as summery as its title suggests. At just over 30-minutes long, \u003ci\u003eThe Green Album\u003c\/i\u003e may leave some listeners feeling a little cheated, but overall, this is a gem of an album, small yet perfectly formed.
