Antibalas is a Brooklyn-based collective of musicians founded in 1998 by bandleader Martin Perna. Their name, which means 'bulletproof' in Spanish, reflects their mission to create powerful and impactful music. Drawing inspiration from the traditional Afrobeat style pioneered by Fela Kuti, Antibalas has toured extensively across the globe, bringing their updated version of this genre to audiences in over forty countries and five continents.
