Collection: Crispy Ambulance

Formed in 1977 in Manchester by Alan Hempsall and Robert Davenport, Crispy Ambulance started as a two-man outfit before adding Keith Darbyshire and Gary Madeley to the line-up in 1978. Over their first five years, they recorded sessions for local and national radio and released records on Factory, Factory Benelux, and Aural Assault. They toured extensively in the UK and Europe, both as headline act and supporting *Joy Division*, *Killing Joke*, and *Section 25*. After disbanding in 1982, the members pursued other projects.

In 1999, Crispy Ambulance reunited for a gig in Manchester to celebrate the re-release of two earlier albums on the LTM record label. Since then, they have released two more studio albums.
