Eumir Deodato is a Brazilian musician, composer, arranger, producer, and artist. Born on June 22nd (or possibly June 21st) in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, he later moved to the USA in 1967. Known for his diverse musical style that combines jazz with elements of rock/pop, R&B/funk, Brazilian/Latin, and symphonic music.

Deodato's career spans several decades and genres. He gained recognition in the 1970s as an original artist primarily in the pop/jazz or crossover jazz category. Since then, he has produced or arranged music for over 500 albums for various artists including Kool & The Gang, Björk, Christophe and K.D. Lang.

In addition to his collaborations with international acts, Deodato has maintained partnerships with fellow Brazilian musicians such as Milton Nascimento and Marcos Valle. Since 2011 he has been collaborating with Euro Groove Department in their live project Eumir Deodato & Euro Groove Department.
