Esbjörn Svensson Trio

Esbjörn Svensson Trio, often shortened to E.S.T., were a Swedish jazz group formed in 1993. Led by pianist Esbjörn Svensson, the trio became one of the most widely recognised European jazz groups of their period, bringing a strong melodic sense and a contemporary feel to the classic piano trio format.

Their work moved easily between lyricism, improvisation and a more open, modern jazz vocabulary. E.S.T. Live '95 catches the group in its earlier years, already showing the clarity and interplay that became central to its sound.
