Janet Kay is a British reggae singer, born in London. In 1979, her single "Silly Games" became one of Britain's biggest ever reggae hits, reaching No. 2 on the UK chart. This soulful Lovers Rock track showcased Janet's tender vocals and unique style. Despite radio ignorance towards reggae at the time, "Silly Games" stood out with its quirky feature of Janet's thin voice straining to hit high notes. While it remained her only pop crossover hit, Janet continued to release well-received records in the specialist market throughout the late 70s and early 80s.
