Jimmy Lynch was a versatile artist born on October 13, 1937 in Acmar, Alabama. He excelled as a comedian, singer, dancer (often known as "Mr. Motion"), emcee, band leader, and actor. Starting his career in vocal groups during high school, Lynch gained fame for his comedic persona "Funky Tramp" which he brought to vinyl and sold over a million copies of his comedy albums in the 1960s and 1970s.

In addition to his successful comedy career, Lynch also showcased his musical talent with singles like "Notions of Mr. Motion" and "The Broadway", proving himself to be just as wild and funky as any artist of that era. He further contributed to the music industry by working as a tour manager and emcee for renowned blues artists such as Bobby "Blue" Bland, ZZ Hill, Tyrone Davis, Millie Jackson, Patti LaBelle and Johnny Taylor.

Lynch's most notable contributions were in collaboration with his longtime friend Rudy Ray Moore in various films including Dolemite (1975), The Human Tornado (1976), The Devil's Son-In-Law (1977), Disco Godfather (1979) and Dolemite Explosion (2007). Alongside acting roles, Lynch also worked behind the scenes during the production of these films.
