Kirsty MacColl was a singer-songwriter from England, UK. Born on October 10, 1959 in Croydon, South London, she began her music career as part of the band The Drug Addix before going solo. In 1981, she achieved success with her hit single "There's a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis". Kirsty married producer Steve Lillywhite in 1984 and they had two children together. Tragically, Kirsty passed away in December 2000 while swimming with her children in Cozumel, Mexico.
Despite her untimely death, Kirsty's legacy lives on through her music. Her album "Tropical Brainstorm" was released posthumously in early 2001. Known for her unique style that blended folk and pop influences, Kirsty's songs continue to captivate audiences around the world.
