Lee Morgan (born July 10, 1938, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - died February 19, 1972, New York City, New York, USA) was an American jazz trumpeter known for his work in the hard bop genre. He collaborated with notable artists such as *John Coltrane*, *Dizzy Gillespie*, and *Wayne Shorter*. His influential album "The Sidewinder" released in 1963 remains a classic in the jazz world. Unfortunately, his promising career was tragically cut short when he was fatally shot in 1972.
With a distinctive trumpet sound and exceptional improvisational skills, Lee Morgan's music captivated audiences around the world. He drew inspiration from various musical styles including bebop and blues. Morgan's collaborations with fellow musicians showcased his versatility and creativity on stage.
