Collection: Lou Reed

Lou Reed co-founded The Velvet Underground with John Cale in 1964, then built a solo catalogue that could turn from Transformer's sharp, streetwise songwriting to the confrontational noise of Metal Machine Music. Born in Brooklyn in 1942, he studied at Syracuse University, where writer Delmore Schwartz was an important influence.
