She comes from a musical lineage that includes her father Pops Staples and siblings Cleotha, Yvonne, and Pervis. Together with The Staple Singers, they created timeless hits that blended gospel harmonies with elements of R&B and soul.
Throughout her career, Mavis Staples has collaborated with renowned artists such as Bettye LaVette, The Blind Boys Of Alabama, Allen Toussaint, Ruthie Foster, The Neville Brothers, Levon Helm,and Dr. John among others.
