Mitchum Yacoub

Mitchum Yacoub is an Egyptian-American multi-instrumentalist, producer, and DJ based out of San Diego, CA. With a lifelong passion for drumming and supporting various projects in afrobeat, soul, funk, dub, and rocksteady genres, he has developed a unique feel for roots and dance music.

Inspired by legendary artists such as Fela Kuti, Dr. Dre, and James Brown, Mitchum's group brings back the vibrant sounds of 70's Africa with amplified bass and drums. Their music features strong repetitive grooves layered with Afro-Latin percussion and tightly executed horn lines that are sure to get everyone on the dance floor.
