Collection: Nena
German New Wave / synthpop band, active from 1982 to 1987. Fronted by singer Gabriele "Nena" Kerner, the group also featured Jörn-Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen (keyboards), Carlo Karges (guitar), Jürgen Dehmel (bass) and Rolf Brendel (drums). In 1984 they had an international hit with the end-of-the-world fantasy "99 Luftballons", but were unable to capitalize on its success.
The band split up in 1987 after their album "Eisbrecher". Credits after that are generally referring to Nena as a solo artist. For compilations containing both band and solo tracks, credit Nena as the main artist, unless the artwork is clearly implying otherwise. Each track on the compilation must then be attributed individually.
Note: The band Nena should not be confused with the solo artist Nena Kerner or any other variations of her name such as Gabriele Kerner. Please ensure proper credits are given based on these guidelines.
